70th ANNIVERSARY OF HANOI’S LIBERATION

Ba Dinh Square, where 79 years ago, President Ho Chi Minh proclaimed the Declaration of Independence, marking the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

On October 10, 1954, the capital city of Hanoi was radiant with the joy of liberation, marking a new chapter in the history of this thousand-year-old city.

Hanoi, the heart of the nation, has experienced many historical ups and downs. Over the past 70 years, the capital has continuously developed, transforming from a war-torn city into a vibrant cultural, economic, and political center. The ancient architectural works blend with modernity, creating Hanoi’s unique identity.

According to the introduction from the Ho Chi Minh Presidential Complex, President Ho Chi Minh once said: “This was once the Governor-General’s Palace, but the construction of this architectural work was done by the hands of Vietnamese workers. Now the people are free, the country is independent, and the right to own this building belongs to the people.”

Hanoi, our beloved capital, will forever be the pride of every Vietnamese. Let us together honor the previous generations, those who sacrificed for independence and freedom, so that today we can enjoy peace and development
