What is a coaxial light and how does it work
Light from the LED array passes through a diffuser to an angled beam splitter, which directs it down onto the object along the lens axis. Light reflected by the surface travels back up through the beam splitter into the camera. Flat areas reflect straight up and appear evenly bright; scratches and uneven areas deflect the light and appear dark, creating clear contrast.
According to OPT's section drawing, the light consists of a housing, heat sink, PCB, LEDs, diffuser, beam splitter and dustproof mirror.
