Always at the forefront in barcode reading equipment, Cognex has just launched a new product – DataMan 290. This device brings significant improvements in performance and application capabilities in industry.

Cognex DataMan 290 is an AI-supported barcode reader suitable for various applications. DM290 features fast reading in all environments due to integrated AI and powerful lighting.

Technical Specifications

Dataman 290 has two versions: DM290 Mini-Light and DM290 Multi-Light.

  1. Resolution: 1440 x 1080 pixels
  2. Image sensor: CMOS 1/3 inch with global shutter mechanism
  3. Lens: High Speed Liquid Lens (high-speed liquid lens),  quickly focuses when the distance changes
  4. Minimum exposure time: 43 μs
  5. Maximum exposure time: 200 ms (with external lighting)
  6. Image acquisition speed: Up to 45Hz
  7. Multifunctional lighting system with:
    • Mini Light: Includes 4 high-power red LEDs, suitable for 6.2 mm and 16 mm lenses.
    • Multifunctional integrated lights: Includes 4 red LED lights and 1 diffused white light, compatible with 6.2 mm and 16 mm lenses.
  8. Diverse communication protocols: TCP/IP, PROFINET (Layer B), EtherNet/IP™, SLMP, CC-Link, Modbus TCP, NTP, SFTP, FTP, MRS, (JavaScripting is enabled for custom protocols)
  9. Power source: 24 V DC +/- 10%

      5 simple setup steps, users can quickly configure the device to achieve optimal scanning performance without requiring advanced knowledge.-

    • DM290 supports reading all types of 1D and 2D barcodes, even on scratched surfaces, poorly printed labels, or low-contrast materials.
